Huntington Beach US Surf Open Finals!

I have a amazing tendancy when travelling to land in cool places when something really huge is happening. It happened in Byron Bay with the Blues and Roots Festival, in Spain when we rolled into Benicassim Festival and now here in Huntington Beach. With over 400,000 people here for the US Surf Open we literally rolled into town during the biggest weekend of the year. Arriving on the Saturday we got to see the top 10 surfers in the world compete including Kelly Slater! Not only did we see the surfing we also saw the skateboard and BMX finals! The photo above shows the legendary skateboard legend Steve Caballero still rippin it up at the age of 40!

Ipod biggie! Here I am in Justin's house. He works for Apple in California and had 10,000 songs on his computer. Luckily for me I was able to steal some as I have over played the 1500 songs on my ipod over this trip. Fresh music is music to my ears. Thankyou Justin!

Carrying the cross!

Only in America! Here I was cycling the PCH on possibly the most unpleasant 20 miles of the trip. It was crazy busy, packed with fast food joints and ridiculously dangerous. I almost got wiped out twice by buses who made it their aim to force me into the curb. At one point I feared for my life as I nearly ploughed into a lampost but then it all became clear when I saw this guy who I believe is actually God. Walking the same highway bearing the cross. I realised if he can make it then so can I. A small message which prompted me to get my ass in gear. I pounded tarmac for the next hour to get off this awful stretch of corperate American highway!

Blake's first AA meeting!

Now here is an image of the aftermath of Friday night in Hermosa Beach. Now although the image of Ted face down in the sand passed out and hung over is a funny one the star of this story is Blake. The story begins where it ended when at 8am on Saturday morning Blake found himself in an Alcholics Anonymous meeting being greeted as a newcomer. The events which led him here are even funnier. He was kicked out of the club at 11pm, walking the streets at midnight blind drunk and blacked out somewhere between the hours of 2 and 3am, He slept in a doorway and was woken by a homeless guy who deemed it necassary to take him to his first AA meeting! He got schooled by some of the best that morning. Sounds like he had an awesome Friday night! Cheers Blake you hilarious bastard! This really got me laughing!

Becoming a millionaire!

I came out of the club and thought I struck gold with what looked like a 100 dollar bill on the ground. As I soon discovered it was actually a 1,000,000 dollar bill with this God fearing message emblazoned on the back of it!

The million dollar question: Will you go to heaven? Here's a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or used God's name in vain? Jesus said who ever looks at a women to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart". Have you looked with lust? Will you be guilty on judgement day? If you have done these thing, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulter-at-heart. Read your bible daily!

I suppose I am going to hell then because I am guilty of the all the above. Thanks guys for the message and the broken hope of finding some real money!
